While it has the sharp outline of an emerald cut, the crown (surface) is faceted with the numerous cuts characteristic of a rose cut. 
This unique polishing allows you to enjoy the charm of both the clear transparency of an emerald cut and the soft sparkle of a rose cut at the same time.
